Join Irwin Guides for this fully supported, all inclusive trek around the
famed Mont Blanc. 8 days of hiking through lush valleys, wildflowers
and mountain passes on non-technical terrain. On our final
day there is the option of a tour on the famous Valle Blanch following
snow-covered glaciers from the top of the Aiguille du Midi.
This tour includes all hotels, mountain refuges, lifts and IFMGA
Day 1: Arrive in Chamonix, gear check, welcome dinner, lodging at 3 star hotel
Day 2: Set off from Brevent cable car hiking to Les Houches, lodging in private chalet
Day 3: From Les Houches, we use the Belleview cable car to begin our day over the Col de Tricot and down to les Contamines. Night at 3 star hotel
Day 4: les Contamine to Ville des Glaciers passing the Notre Dame de la Gorge and following ancient Roman roadways. Night in a comfortable mountain refuge.
Day 5: Ville des Glaciers over the Col de la Seigne, under the Brenda Face of the Italian side of Mont Blanc. Down the Val Veni and into Courmayeur, Italy. Night in 3 star hotel.
Day 6: A short bus ride gets us started up the Val Ferret, over the Col du Grand Ferret, past Mt. Dolent where France, Italy and Switzerland all meet, then down into La Fouly and a short transfer to Champex, Switzerland. 3 star hotel in Champex
Day 7: From Champex we hike over our high point of the Fenetre d'Arpette at 2,670 meters ( 8,760') giving us views of the glaciated Trient Plateau and down into the village of Trient. Night at an auberge in Trient.
Day 8: From Trient we climb up the Col du Balm, back into France and into the village of Vallorcine. Night in auberge.
Day 9: Final day! Along the Grand Balcone, past the beautiful Lac Blanc and down into Chamonix. Night at 3 star hotel, celebratory dinner.
Day 10: Departure day, or for those who would like to add on a day of glacier walking and get higher onto the Mont Blanc Massif which we have just circumnavigated...we will ride the Aiguliie du Midi cable car up to 3765m (12,360') and traverse the Valle Blanche across to Italy and the Point Helbronner. From here we return via cable car for an arial view of our crossing, and descend back to Chamonix via Aiguille du Midi cable car.
Day 11: Departure day
